چکیده

By chemical screening methods we detected in the mycelium of Streptomyces griseoflavus (strain Tii 2880) the colabomycin-complex2) and a second compound, called 2880-ll (Rf values see Table 1). 2880-ll absorbed UV light on Silica gel F254, and turned black with molybdatophosphoric acid and dark brown with vanillinsulfuric acid. It could be separated from the crude extracts by silica gel chromatography2)

Kinetics of alkaline protease production by Streptomyces griseoflavus PTCC1130

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Proteases are a group of enzymes that catalyze the degradation of proteins resulting in the production of their amino acid constituents. They are the most important group of industrial enzymes which account for about 60% of total enzymes in the market and produced mainly by microorganisms. The attempts were made to study the kinetic parameters of protease produced by S...

Cytotoxicity effect of secondary metabolites of Streptomyces koyangensis and Streptomyces tunisiensis isolated from saline soils of Garmsar City on human breast cancer cell line (MCF-7, IBRC C10082)

Background: Streptomyces is one of the most important prokaryotic microorganisms, and their secondary metabolites have high antimicrobial and cytotoxic properties. Three-quarters of the antibiotics known to be produced by these bacteria. As a result, finding new effective compounds from these microorganisms can be a way to treat cancer. The aim of this study was to isolate and screen halophilic...

Artificial biosynthesis of phenylpropanoic acids in a tyrosine overproducing Escherichia coli strain

BACKGROUND The phenylpropanoid metabolites are an extremely diverse group of natural products biosynthesized by plants, fungi, and bacteria. Although these compounds are widely used in human health care and nutrition services, their availability is limited by regional variations, and isolation of single compounds from plants is often difficult. Recent advances in synthetic biology and metabolic...

Cyanohydrin Phosphonate Natural Product from Streptomyces regensis

Streptomyces regensis strain WC-3744 was identified as a potential phosphonic acid producer in a large-scale screen of microorganisms for the presence of the pepM gene, which encodes the key phosphonate biosynthetic enzyme phosphoenolpyruvate phosphonomutase. (31)P NMR revealed the presence of several unidentified phosphonates in spent medium after growth of S. regensis. These compounds were pu...

Characterization of Two Streptomyces Enzymes That Convert Ferulic Acid to Vanillin

Production of flavors from natural substrates by microbial transformation has become a growing and expanding field of study over the past decades. Vanillin, a major component of vanilla flavor, is a principal flavoring compound used worldwide. Streptomyces sp. strain V-1 is known to be one of the most promising microbial producers of natural vanillin from ferulic acid. Although identification o...
